Wild Saturdays
at Gouveia Park
Join us every Saturday this October in bringing hyper-focused activities and play to the families of Westchester. All of our activities have been curated for the harvest season, and will give families new tools and games that you can bring home with you.
January 11 - Fairy Ice Palace Construction
for families with children aged 2 years - 6 years
The beauty of winter comes alive in art--a blank piece of paper that can be drawn upon in many forms. Ice, snow, sticks, and a myriad of other utensils and supplies can be used to create beautiful little worlds of their own. I haven't even mentioned the fairies yet!! Come join us as we create wondrous fairy homes and palaces and enjoy the frozen season of play!
January 18 - Winter Animal Tracking
for families with children aged 5 and up
The world grows silent and foreign in the winter--a different ecosystem that is in many ways unique to the area we live in. Those animals that do stick around find themselves in a wholly different world, and they adapt to that. Join Eric as we hike through the park and show the habits and expressions of these creatures in their natural habitats.
February 8 - Colors of Winter Nature Hike
for adults and kids aged 2-6 years
A nature hike is a wonderful thing. You engage with peace and beauty in nature--and find a bunch of cool and random environmental encounters that we can't plan out! If you're looking to learn things about the winter ecosystem and enjoy a Saturday morning in the woods, sign up!
March 1 - Maple Tapping
for families with children aged 5 years and up
This region of the country has a long history of using maple trees for sustenance and cooking, and everyone in the state has an awesome opportunity to learn how it works! Our programs engage with maple syruping all through the end of the Winter, and you'll have an opportunity to learn the process of tapping and give yourself the tools to engage with the process outside of class if you have maples in your own yard!
